About

Since 1993, the English Undergraduate Association has hosted activities, provided opportunities to network, and helped students succeed in the English major. We are a departmental club affiliated with both the English department itself as well as the Berkeley Connect English program. Membership in the EUA is open to all who are interested. No registration or fees necessary!

Please check out our Semester Events tab for a full listing of events for this semester. We hope to see you at some, or all, of them!

If you wish to join our mailing list and stay in the loop about our events and opportunities, please fill out this form.  We promise to email you only once week!

We are also in the process of evaluating our organization and trying to make it better. To that end, please help us out and fill out our feedback form to tell us what you think of the EUA! We would also like to share our statement on our positionality as an organization:

We, the board members of the English Undergraduate Association, have been thinking critically about our organization and how we can make it better and more inclusive. The EUA is meant to be a liaison between the English department and the undergraduates in it. We recognize our department is founded on highly patriarchal, white-centric, heterocisnormative conceptions of a literary canon. We recognize the department is making moves towards a more inclusive and accurate representation of English literature and understand the bureaucratic obstacles that slow that progress. As an organization, we are devoted to providing resources for all students in the department, despite the confines of our curriculum. However, we recognize our limitations, as well–we do not want to be defined by these limitations, and always strive to move forward towards fostering a stronger learning environment. We want to do better and know we have missing pieces. If you recognize those gaps of knowledge in the way we conduct our organization, please tell us! Historically marginalized voices deserve to be elevated and amplified, and we want to aide in doing this. We want to make this organization the best it can be for everyone – and we welcome your thoughts and feedback as we go about changing for the better.

(We migrated to wordpress Fall 2015, but our old website and newsletters are still available, for anyone interested.)

  3. Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this website.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s hard to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and visual
appeal. I must say you’ve done a very good job with this.
Also, the blog loads extremely quick for me on Firefox.

    Excellent Blog!
